For Some Old Fashioned Horsedrawn Family Entertainment - Call the people with the Percherons!

Wagon rides, historical presentations, driving lessons, or just chillin' with draft horses, what would you like to do?

Whether it’s for relaxation, romance, or retracing great-grandma’s footsteps; we encourage you to join us for a horse drawn wagon ride. Our gray Percherons, each weighing nearly a ton, will pull you along in our 14 – 16 passenger wagon.

Since 1997, the Van Hare family has been sharing their love of draft horses with all those who are fans of these gentle giants. 

  • Groups to their small farm have come from schools, churches, youth organizations, and families looking for something unique to experience together.  The Van Hares have also traveled off the farm giving rides and presentations in primarily Loveland, Fort Collins, Berthoud, and Greeley.  They have shown their farm teams in events in several county fairs, the Estes Park Draft Horse Show, the Big Thunder Draft Horse Show, and the Denver National Western Stock Show. 
  • While shows are fun, their greatest enjoyment comes from bringing these horses to people who have yet to experience the thrill of being up close and personal with a 1 ton percheron!  They participate in several free public events including the Northern Colorado Draft Horse Open House, held each October.  And every year ends with dozens of people taking caroling rides during the holidays - can you hear the jingle of the bells?

Basic Pricing below, but let us know if you have something unique - a wedding, birthday, neighborhood block party - we'll work with you. There is a travel fee for locations over 10 miles off site.

 Off site: If we trailer to your location there is a minimum charge of $125; which includes the first hour.  Each additional hour is $65.  There's no limit to how many different people can ride, but you can only ride 14 people at a time.  Petting included!     Private Bookings:  If you'd like a private hour on our property, the cost is $65.  We recommend this for small children and families who want an up close experience.  This includes a neighborhood ride and time in our pasture where each child (and adult) can take a turn sitting on the box seat by the driver.     Barn Rental:  We have had chili suppers, sing alongs, and birthdays in the barn - it's rustic, but it's fun!  With wagon rides; $10/hour, without, $50/hour.
